After graduating high school, I wanted to study Psychology at Ramon Magsaysay Memorial College. However, my brother, who agreed to pay for my college expenses, rejected that plan. I was really upset and my brother told me to attend Mindanao State University-GSC instead.

Taking things for granted, I never realized how blessed I was. It never crossed my mind. I have good parents; both are Christians actively involved in IVCF. They exposed me to joining Grad Team Conferences ever since I was young. I was even encouraged to join Sibol Camp after just graduating from sixth grade. Apart from that, I also joined the Discipleship and Leadership Camp the following year. Initially, I dared to feel like I was just entering for the sake of it. Yet, little did I know, deep in my heart, I enjoyed participating.

I’ve been a Christian for a long time. I used to be part of the Youth Officers, the Music Team, I also led songs in church, and even helped in technical areas. I was basically involved in everything. But that didn’t mean I was already living righteously. I realized later on that I was doing all of those things for my own self-interest. I didn’t have a strong foundation in the Lord at that time, and eventually, I reached a point where I felt tired and spiritually empty.
